Where a Ferrari needs film

On a Ferrari the paint is part of what the car is worth. Original, unmarked paint matters when the car is sold, and on older cars originality is exactly what buyers and inspectors look for. A repainted panel is something to explain. A protected one is not.

The shapes add to it. Mid-engine Ferraris feed air to the engine through intakes behind the doors, in the line of whatever the front tires throw up, and the front ends sit low enough to meet debris that other cars pass over. That is why Full Body is the common choice here rather than an upgrade.

Film is also reversible. It protects without altering the original finish, and a satin film can give a gloss car a matte look without a repaint, then come off again later.

By model

Coverage by Ferrari model

  • Mid-engine: 458, 488, F8 Tributo, 296, SF90

Side intakes and the rear quarters around them take the spray from the front wheels, and the nose and splitter sit close to the road. Track Pack at minimum; Full Body is what we recommend for these cars.

  • Front-engine GT: Roma, Portofino, 812, 12Cilindri

Long hoods and wide front fenders face the road for most of the car's length. The Front Clip covers them. Full Body if you want the decision made once and the whole car finished the same way.

  • Purosangue

Taller than the rest of the range, so chips land at a different height, but it is still a Ferrari finish over a long hood. Front Clip, or Track Pack to add the rockers and door edges.

  • Classic and collector Ferraris

Original paint is the thing to protect, and older paint needs care before film goes near it. We inspect and take depth readings first, and we will tell you if the paint is too fragile for film rather than fit it anyway.

Front Clip: $2,750 gloss · $3,300 satin. Track Pack: $3,900 gloss · $4,680 satin. Full Body: $7,500 gloss · $9,000 satin. Windshield Protection Film: $450. Full Body for most Ferraris: the paint is part of the car's value, and partial coverage leaves the panels behind the intakes exposed. These are the same prices as our online shop, and any correction the paint needs first is quoted after inspection.

On sound paint, yes, and it comes off again without harming it. Film is only as safe as the paint’s adhesion, though, which is why older finishes are inspected and measured before anything is fitted. If the paint is fragile, we say so.

Gloss keeps the factory finish exactly as it is. Satin turns a gloss Ferrari matte and is reversible, which is how many owners try a matte look without committing to paint. Satin should be Full Body, since a satin front on a gloss car reads as a mistake.

Send us the Ferrari and we will tell you what it needs.
