Certification

What XPEL certification means for your car

  • Trained on installation

XPEL certification is training on how XPEL film is prepared for and installed: cleaning and decontaminating the panel, positioning, wrapping edges, and leaving no lift lines or trapped contamination. Film failures are usually installation failures, and that is what certification addresses.

  • Gloss or satin

XPEL makes clear gloss film, which disappears on the paint, and satin film, which turns a gloss finish matte while protecting it. Both carry a self-healing top coat: light marks in the surface level out with heat from the sun or warm water.

  • Warranty registered at installation

XPEL film carries XPEL's warranty against film defects such as yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling, on XPEL's terms. We register it when we fit the film and name the exact terms in writing with your quote.

  • Paint prepared first

Film is clear and holds whatever is beneath it for years. Paint is inspected under lights and decontaminated before film goes on, and anything that needs polishing is quoted alongside, after depth readings.

Questions

XPEL questions

Yes. Cheval Noir Motorsports is an XPEL Certified PPF Installer. We also fit GSWF film, so XPEL is a choice made for the car rather than the only film we stock.

Front Clip: $2,750 gloss · $3,300 satin. Track Pack: $3,900 gloss · $4,680 satin. Full Body: $7,500 gloss · $9,000 satin. Windshield Protection Film: $450. Any correction the paint needs first is quoted after inspection.

It covers the film itself failing, such as yellowing, cracking, bubbling or peeling, on XPEL’s terms. It does not cover a stone cutting through the film: that is the film doing its job, and the panel underneath is what it protected. We register the warranty at installation and give you the terms in writing.

Gloss film is meant to be invisible and keep the factory look. Satin film changes a gloss car to a matte finish, and it is also how a factory matte or satin paint is protected, because that paint cannot be polished if it is marked. Satin is best done as a full car, since a satin front on a gloss car reads as a mistake.

Yes, and it is a common specification: film takes the impacts and a coating over paint and film makes the whole car easier to wash. See new car protection for film, polish and coating as one visit.
