Where a Tesla needs film
Tesla paint has a reputation for chipping easily, and owners usually notice the front bumper and hood first. Teslas are also commuter cars, and a car doing 85 or 400 every weekday collects chips fast.
The spot owners notice second is lower and further back. On the Model 3 and Model Y, the lower rear quarter, behind the rear door and ahead of the rear wheel, takes grit thrown up by the car's own front tires. It is often found only when someone kneels down to wash the car. The Front Clip does not reach it; the Track Pack's rocker and rear impact coverage does.
The windshield is the third. Teslas have cameras mounted behind the glass, so replacing a chipped windshield means camera calibration as well as new glass. Windshield film is a sacrificial layer that takes the pitting instead, and it is far simpler to replace than the glass.

Coverage by Tesla model
Model 3 and Model Y
Front Clip at minimum. Track Pack is what we recommend, because it adds the rocker panels and rear impact areas where these two chip behind the rear doors. Add windshield film if the car commutes on the interstate.
Model S
A long, low front and wide front fenders. The Front Clip covers what the road reaches most; Track Pack if the car covers a lot of highway miles.
Model X
An upright SUV front that takes chips at highway height. Front Clip suits most owners. The Model X windshield is unusually large, so ask us about windshield film for it specifically.
Satin on a Tesla
Satin film turns a gloss Tesla matte without a wrap or paint, and protects the paint while it does. It should be Full Body, so the whole car has one finish.
